After having to postpone their Spring wedding, Courtney and Chance exchanged vows in front of their closest family and friends a few months later in this beautiful Summer wedding at the River Course. The Clemson grads married on the back lawn overlooking the River. EM Creative incorporated the sweetest pops of orange floral as a nod to their alma mater. One of our favorite design elements of the night was the escort display overflowing with florals and candles that created the perfect photo backdrop for guests. And because he couldn’t celebrate with the couple day-of, Ashley Brown Cake Design designed the sweetest wedding cake including Bear, the couple’s dog, on the back!

Moving to Micro Weddings

The wedding industry is one that is directly impacted by what is going on in the world. Here at A Charleston Bride, we are always striving to keep up with times and adapt to the world around us. In the uncertain times of Covid-19, we are finding capacity restrictions, travel bans, and fear from guests and clients alike to have large-scale events. After the first wave of postponements in the Spring, we began working with our clients to an intimate event: the microwedding.

Blushing Springtime Wedding on Kiawah Island

As the old proverb states, “April showers bring May flowers” and this wedding sure did prove this! Michelle and Dylan exchanged vows in a sweet and intimate ceremony overlooking the marsh at the Kiawah Island River Course. The ceremony altar was accented by bright and blushing floral urns designed by Stephanie Gibbs.

A Private Island Wedding off the Coast of Charleston

Dewees is a private paradise off the coast of Charleston, South Carolina. So private, in fact, that the only way to get there is by boat and immediately upon arrival you trade in your car keys for a golf cart key! Home to very few full-time residents and a wildlife preserve, Dewees Island is the perfect place to take a step back, explore the beauty of the Lowcountry and in Annie + Evan’s case, GET MARRIED! Annie spent a lot of time on Dewees growing up and some of her favorite childhood memories were made here so it was only fitting that the first place she and Evan travelled to together was this very place!
